The Ark

The Ark is our youth group for 7th to 12th grade. Our goal? Young people on fire for God and equipped to go out and take the world for Jesus. But we don’t see our work as merely preparatory. Youth aren’t just the future of the church. They’re part of the present. We want our kids serving and loving and existing in real spiritual community NOW!

To that end, we meet weekly for Bible study and prayer. We often break into smaller groups for more personal mentorship. We do debates and games to draw the kids into engaging with their faith. And, of course, we have plenty of fun and fellowship, with regular parties, game nights, scavenger hunts, and more.

In short, our goal is to empower our young people to take their faith seriously. Many youth group age kids are deciding who they want to be. Well, we know what we want them to be.

We want them to be mature disciples of Jesus Christ. We’ll do whatever it takes to help make that happen. And we’ll have fun doing it.

Our youth group is led by Nathan and Meredith Alberson, who moved to Evansville to be part of planting Church of the King, and brought along combined years of experience working with youth. Scott and Chris Schutte and Dillon and Ashley Abrams serve along with the Albersons, and they are awesome and pretty much designed in a lab to do youth work.
